This day is a red-letter day for the Filipino Community in Victoria for we’re celebrating the 37th Anniversary of the longest Fiesta ever in this state.

It’s my pride to announce that despite it’s number of challenges and struggles over the years, the Fiesta is still here to stay.

Established in the early 80s, the Fiesta has been celebrated every year without fail – bringing joy, friendship and most importantly, showcasing the Filipino artistic and cultural heritage.

Thanks to the dedication and tenacity of the Fiesta Management Committee, the hardworking Fiesta Queen  and Charity Quests Committee and candidates, the financial support of business enterprises and significantly, the cooperation of  Filipino community and other multi-cultural groups.

This goes to show that  MALASAKIT (care and concern) which is one of the admirable Filipino values and the running theme of this year’s Fiesta, is  alive and well in the Filipino-Australian Community in Victoria.
